How to make a resume as a fresher
No work experience yet? That's normal. A good fresher resume shows what you've learned and built - here's how to write one.
The structure that works
- Name and contact - phone, email, city, and a LinkedIn or GitHub link if you have one.
- Career objective - 2-3 lines on the role you want and what you bring. Make it specific to the job.
- Education - degree, college, years and your CGPA or percentage. Freshers put this near the top.
- Projects - your strongest section. What you built, the tools you used, and a result ("used by 600 students").
- Internships and experience - even short internships, freelancing or part-time work count.
- Skills - tools and skills the job post mentions, if you genuinely have them.
- Certifications and achievements - online courses, competitions, college roles.
Tips that make a difference
- Keep it to one page. Recruiters spend seconds on the first look.
- Use numbers. "Cut roll-call time from 10 minutes to 1" beats "Made an attendance app".
- Match the job post. Many companies use software (ATS) that looks for the skills they listed.
- Choose a clean template. Simple layouts read better on job portals than heavily designed ones.
- Check spelling and your email address. Use a professional email like firstname.lastname@gmail.com.
Build it in 10 minutes
Open the Resume builder, press Examples and start from "Software Engineer (fresher)", "B.Com fresher" or "MBA fresher". Choose the Fresher or ATS Simple template, replace the details with yours, then download as PDF - or Word if the portal asks for a .docx.
